New communications coordinator

February 14, 2014

Stephanie Kusek is Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street Inc.’s new communications coordinator.

The part-time position is part of growth for the not-for-profit agency, allowing it to put additional focus on revitalization and historic preservation, said Executive Director Trisha Drape.

“Stephanie literally hit the ground running and already has made herself invaluable to us,” Drape said.

Kusek graduated from the University of Kansas in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in strategic communication. She also spent six months studying in Newcastle, Australia and recently has worked with Jim McKenna the city’s brand manager with the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce, helping with community marketing implementation. As communications coordinator, she handles social media and communications as well as working on advertising and designing marketing materials, and assists events and promotions director Stacy Needels.
