February 22, 2014

Michael Krueger, the 22-year-old Lee’s Summit man missing since Feb. 15 has been located safe in the Kansas City metro area.

The Lee’s Summit Police Department announced the news at 12:20 p.m. Feb. 22.

Krueger, whose birthday was Feb. 19, was reported missing three days earlier after not arriving home although his texted his father that he was en route to the Lee’s Summit home the family shares.

His parents and friends had watched him perform with his rock band SOLUS Feb. 14 at the Aftershock Rock Club in Merriam, Kan.

After performing, Krueger and a band mate spent the night at a community center in downtown Kansas City where the band often practices.

Early the next morning, Dave Krueger, a teacher in the Blue Springs School District, said he received a text from his son saying he was driving home; however, Michael never made it. Dave Krueger later filed a missing person’s report with the Lee’s Summit Police Department Feb. 16.

Krueger said the family and his son’s band mates took to social media to help spread the word about Michael’s disappearance.
