LSWHS Westside Girls capture championship at state dance competition

The Westside Girls are coached by head coach Khryssie Hartman and assistant coaches Julie Kemna and Kendra Burke. Team members are Lindsay Brady, Katie Britton-Mehlisch, Maddy Burkett, Emma Costello, Mackenzie Hayes, Becca Hopkins, Morgan Holecek, Brianna Knipp, Lydia Ganaden, Megan Garcia, Amelia Nill, Elise Nill, Clayre Parson, Alex Prstojevich, Monika Rettler, Haley Schauperl and Tara Stewart.

The Lee’s Summit West Westside Girls competed in the Missouri Dance Team Association State Competition at Kemper Arena Feb. 15 in Kansas City, competing against 5A teams from throughout Missouri.

The Westside Girls placed first in jazz dance, first in prop dance and won the 5A State Championship title.

Throughout the season, the Westside Girls competed at the Yvonne Cole Lindbergh Invitational, the Kansas City Classic and the Lee’s Summit North Dance Invitational, earning first place in each dance at all three competitions, making them undefeated this year.
