Round appointed new Circuit Judge

Gov. Jay Nixon recently announced the appointment of Bryan Edward Round as Circuit Judge for the 16th Judicial Circuit, which covers Jackson County.

The position became vacant upon the retirement of the Honorable Peggy Stevens McGraw.

Round is an attorney in private practice with the firm of Mitchell, Kristl & Lieber, in Kansas City. He also has served as the municipal judge for the city of Peculiar since 2004. Before joining his present law firm in 2006, Round operated his own private practice. He served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Jackson County from 1988 to 1997. Round also has served as attorney to the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners and as counsel to the Jackson County Combat Commission.

Round is an organizer and board member of the recently established Cass County Youth Court, and has been active in local charitable and youth sports organizations. He obtained his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas.
