Lee's Summit Symphony to collect food at March 8 concert

March 7, 2014

The Lee’s Summit Symphony will once again participate in Orchestras Feeding America, a project that has seen more than 250 orchestras from across the country collect nearly 450,000 pounds of food.

The efforts of these orchestras have helped spread the word about how and why orchestras are so necessary to their communities, beyond providing outstanding music.

Non-perishable food donations will be collected at the Symphony’s Spring Classic Concert, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. March 8 at Lee’s Summit High School.

Tickets for the concert may be purchased at the Symphony website or at both Lee’s Summit Hy-Vee stores.

The Symphony will partner with Harvesters, a metro-area organization serving dozens of food pantries in and around Lee’s Summit. Barrels will be located at each entrance to the performing arts center on March 8.
