Gertrude “Sadie” Belser passed away. She was born in Lee’s Summit on Dec. 26, 1925. Her parents were Howell and Mary Hoit. She was a member of PEO and a volunteer with Lee’s Summit Hospital. She was the librarian at Meadow Lane Elementary School and had the ability to make anyone laugh. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Belser and one daughter and two sons.

Lee’s Summit Municipal Judge James Tobin is glad to be back home. Serving 13 months as a staff judge advocate in the 3rd Corps Support Command with the Army Reserve in Germany and Iraq. Tobin completed many tasks, from preparing last wills for deploying troops to assisting in the processing of confiscated smuggling vessels.
