Audition for Lee’s Summit’s Got Talent fast approaching

April 4, 2014

The countdown has begun for Season 4 of Lee’s Summit’s Got Talent.

Auditions are open to contestants of all ages; however potential contestants must be residents of the greater Kansas City area.

Entry forms and audition information can be found on the website: www.lstalent.com. Audition forms are due by April 16. The audition fee for Lee’s Summit’s Got Talent is $35.

Performance auditions are scheduled before a panel of judges April 24 at MCC-Longview Cultural Arts Center, 500 S.W. Longview Road.

Acts will be judged based on the following categories: level of ability, execution of act, stage presence, costume, and overall impression/“wow factor.” Producers will then select the top 20 acts to compete in the final show.

The winner of Lee’s Summit’s Got Talent, determined by panel of celebrity judges, is awarded a $5,000 cash prize. Judges include Las Vegas performer Matt Lewis; Kristen Merrell, singer, dancer and award-winning choreographer; and Brent Barr, director of general services at Worlds of Fun.

A “Crowd Pleaser” award is given to the act determined to be the most entertaining by show producers.

Lee’s Summit’s Got Talent is a fundraiser to benefit the programs of Lee’s Summit CARES. The final show is at 7 p.m. June 20 inside Lee’s Summit High School’s Performing Arts Center. All general admission tickets are $15 per person at Lee’s Summit Hy-Vee and Price Chopper stores.

Tickets can also be purchased online at lstalent.org.
