The new 2014-15 edition of the Lee’s Summit’s Human & Social Services Directory is available.
The 28-page directory is a list of services, by category, that are available to those in the Lee’s Summit community. It lists sources of clothing, education, employment assistance, financial planning and assistance, healthcare, food and nutrition, housing, senior services, thrift stores and youth services. There are contacts for mental health services, first-time home buyers program and people with disabilities.
The annual publication is compiled, published and distributed by the city’s Human Services Advisory Board, which works to identify services needed in the city and to coordinate efforts to meet those needs. Sue Jackson, a board member, said the directory is a great resource tool for those assisting people living in the community as well as for anyone seeking what resources are available to them. The directory can be downloaded by going to www.cityofls.net and on the main page choose Boards and Commissions, then select Human Services Advisory Board. On that page click on the directory. Hard copies of the directory also are available at City Hall.
