Broncos open soccer league play with 5-0 win over Blue Springs

The Lee’s Summit North girls soccer team opened up Suburban Conference play with a 5-0 victory over Blue Springs on April 7 at Blue Springs.

Hannah Bomar scored two goals for North, which put the game away in the final minutes. Laken Tedrow, Alexis Mitchell and Keelie Fothergill also had goals for the Broncos. Madison Chapman was credited with two assists while Bomar, Tedrow and Mitchell also recorded assists.

Goalkeeper Bailey Doerflinger made three saves in getting the shutout for the Broncos.

“It was nice for our girls to get some goals in this game as we have struggled to finish the first couple weeks of the season,” North coach Ryan Kelley said.

The victory gave the Broncos a 2-3-3 record heading into their home game against Lee’s Summit on April 8.
