Freshman Carlie Queen placed first in the high jump and second in the pole vault for Summit Christian Academy in the MU Relays held recently in Columbia.

Queen won the high jump with a top leap of 5 feet, 8 ½ inches, which just barely missed setting a new meet record. She placed second in the pole vault with a 10-0 mark.

SCA also had James Bailey place third in the discus with a school-record 140-2 throw and sixth in the shot put at 44-11. Isiah Lind was sixth in the discus at 135-1 ½ and 15th in the shot put at 37-2 ½.

The Eagle girls 3,200-meter relay team of Madi Miller, Annelise Parke, Erin Brownlee and Ashley Thompson placed fifth with a school-record time of 10 minutes, 58.41 seconds. Brownlee also placed seventh in the 800 with a 2:34.52 while Miller was ninth in 2:39.75.

Queen will also compete in the high jump and pole vault this weekend at the Kansas Relays. Summit Christian’s 3,200 relay team will also take part in the meet.
