Lee’s Summit North soccer to hold annual ‘Pink Out’ event

The Lee’s Summit North girls soccer team will hold its third annual “Big Monday Soccer Showdown Pink Out” fund raiser to fight breast cancer on April 21 at the Bronco Activity Complex.

The Broncos will play Lee’s Summit West beginning with a C-team game at 3:30 p.m., followed by the junior varsity at 5 and the varsity match at 6:30. The varsity match will be televised on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.

Admission is free to all fans wearing a 2014 “Pink Out” T-shirt to the game. The shirts can be purchased for $10 from a LS North or LS West soccer player, with all proceeds going to the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The event will include a silent auction, a balloon release, a guest speaker, local sports celebrities and special half-time entertainment.

Last year’s “Pink Out” event raisedapproximately $15,000 with the help of the community and local businesses.
