Coyne G. Lord, 93, passed away April 14, 2014 at John Knox Village Hospice. Visitation will be 1 p.m., April 19 at Floral Hills Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens.

The family requests contributions to One Good Meal, P.O. Box 2222, Lee’s Summit, Mo. 64063.

Coyne was born in Kansas City, Kan. and had lived in this area most of his life. He worked as a chemist for Colgate-Palmolive for 31 years, retiring in 1983 at which point he joined their retirees group. Coyne was a University of Missouri alumni and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.  He was active in the American Turbit Club winning many ribbons and trophies. Throughout his life, he actively gardened and cared for his yard up to the day of his death.

Coyne was preceded in death by all five of his siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Clara Lord; a daughter and son in law, Margaret and Bill Jonte; a son and daughter in law, George and Sherri Lord; seven grandchildren.
