American Heart Association credentialed CPR and first aid courses with certifications taking place in June through Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation.
CPR for Family & Friends is an American Heart Association, non-credentialed course, will give individuals the skills to respond to an emergency in the home, at work or in the community. The next session will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on June 3. It is perfect for younger scout groups or youth 10 years of age or older. CPR adult, child and infant is covered, along with choking management. Emphasis is placed on ample practice time on your own manikin and no skills or written testing is required. The fee is $16 per person when registered before May 13 and $18 after that. There is a discounted rate per person for multiple family members signing up.
Kids first aid for children ages 7-12 will prepare kids to get help quickly and handle first aid emergencies like burns, bleeding, sprains, facial injuries and illness. Activities and games will provide emergency skill development and emphasize accident prevention. This class will be held from 6-7 p.m. June 3 and is $10 per child when registered by May 13 and $11 after that.
