Personnel from Lee’s Summit Animal Control escort a four-year-old pit bull into their truck after the pit bull bit a 13-year-old girl April 16 in the 500 block of N.E. Emerald Drive. The girl, who suffered a bite to one of her thumbs as she tried to step in between a smaller dog and the pit bull, was transported to a local hospital for stitches while the pit bull, per city ordinance, was transported to Animal Control for a minimum of 10 days.
