Gilbert Donald Hodges

Gilbert Donald Hodges, 77, of Lee’s Summit, born to Gilbert James and Lola Dimple Hodges in Gerster, Mo. on Jan. 1, 1937 went home to be with Jesus on April 18. Growing up in Osceola, Mo., he was drafted into the Army, serving at Scofield Barracks in Hawaii. Upon discharge, he married Linda Hooper on June 17, 1961.

Their daughter, Melissa, and her husband Steve Higgins, live in Scottsdale, Arizona. Their son, Craig and his wife, Debbie Jo, live in Peoria, Ill. with their daughters Jenni, Amanda, Sarah and Emily.

Don is survived by his wife, one sister, Peggy, and her husband Charles Kincaid. Don was preceded in death by his parents and sister, June Caudle.

Throughout his combined 50 years of carpentry at AT&T, FabTech, and his home workshop, Don blessed many people with his craftsmanship. During his 50 years at First Baptist Church, Lee’s Summit, Don served as Deacon and in many other roles. A Visitation was held at First Baptist Church Lee’s Summit April 21. A Funeral service was held on April 22, at the church.
