LSPR Spring Bike Ride

8 a.m.- noon, Hartman Park, 700 SW Old Pryor Road – The ride will start and finish at Charles David Hartman Park. The ride starts at 8 a.m. rain or shine. There is a 25 mile ride and 50 mile ride to choose from. For more information call 816-969-1542.

Al-Anon

Noon, First Presbyterian Church of Lee’s Summit, 1625 NW O’Brien Road – Is someone’s drinking causing you problems? Come to Al-Anon and join friends and family of alcoholics. The group meets weekly at noonon Mondays and 7:30 p.m. Thursdays.

Linus

1-3 pm, Hobby Lobby, 1015 NE Rice Rd – Fourth Monday of each month. Bring your sewing machine and help make small quilts for Linus to give to children in the hospital. We especially need people willing to quilt finished tops. For more info call Dianne at 816-868-6903.

Lee’s Summit Toastmasters Club

6 p.m., Morningside Business Center, 306 SE 291 Hwy. – The Lee’s Summit Toastmasters Club No. 5317 meets on the second and fourth Mondays each month for those interested in public speaking. Guests are always welcome.

GriefShare

6:30-8 p.m., First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit, 2 NE Douglas Street, in ADM-139 – This is a 13-week seminar and support group for those who have lost loved ones and/or friends through death. Each weekly GriefShare session will include a video seminar featuring top experts and a support group discussion with a focus. Helping Hands of the Willing Workers

1 p.m., Longview Chapel Christian Church, 850 SW Longview Road – Join a weekly group that makes crafts and sews for the benefit of the church. The Helping Hands make items throughout the year to earn money for the building fund and make cheer baskets for the homebound. The group invites anyone looking for fellowship, fun and those who enjoy creating items, to join them. The group furnishes all supplies and is always looking for new ideas.
