The Lee’s Summit Journal was honored April 17 with prestigious awards from the Missouri Advertising Managers Association Best Ad Contest.
Lead designer Ashlee Hendrix received a honorable mention award for a “Pets on Parade” house advertisement and a third place award in the Best One Time Special Section category for the Lee’s Summit Symphony 10th Anniversary tabloid.
“Ashlee continues to improve every visual aspect of our news pages and special sections with her creativity,” Journal publisher/editor John Beaudoin said. “Of course, good stories and photos are a backbone of our news product, too. But Ashlee helps tie all that together with her design and brings a special touch to the ads and special sections she designs.”
The 2014 Cass County Calendar featuring photography from around the county earned first place for Best Advertising Idea/Promotion in the medium/large weeklies category and was named “Best in Show” in the weekly newspaper division.
The recognition was announced at the MAMA conference in Columbia.
