Hughes awarded Truman State University’s leadership scholarship

April 30, 2014

Taurin Hughes of Lee’s Summit has been selected as a Truman Leadership Scholar at Truman State University in Kirksville.

The Truman Leadership Scholarship recognizes outstanding high school students who have demonstrated leadership in both the classroom and extracurricular activities.

The scholarship, named in honor of Missouri’s only United States president, Harry S. Truman, is offered to high school seniors who demonstrate energetic leadership in the classroom, school and community, as well as outstanding academic achievement.

In addition to leadership and involvement, awards also are based upon grade point average and national test scores.

Hughes will graduate from Summit Christian Academy this year. He is the son of Danan and Tiffani Hughes.
