SCA art students recognized at competition

April 30, 2014

Summit Christian Academy secondary art students recently participated in the University of Central Missouri High School Competitive Art Exhibit and UCM’s Senior Art Contest Day. SCA senior Wade Johnson, junior Jingyi (Alynn) Li, and sophomore Trey Glidewell had art pieces selected to be part of the Competitive Art Exhibit and received high ratings of 1,2, and 3 respectively.

Wade and Alynn also participated in the Senior Art Contest and received a 1. SCA senior Anna Pickert’s artwork received a 3 rating in this competition.

Only one-third of the artwork submitted by students earned a rating.

The festival featured 775 entries from students state-wide. The High School Competitive Art Exhibition is open to seniors and select juniors, and only 184 works of art were chosen for the competitive exhibition.
