Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market Spring Celebration features food, music, crafts on May 10

Visitors are invited to Downtown Lee’s Summit’s popular Farmers Market Spring Celebration from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 10, at the corner of Second and Douglas streets. The free celebration includes live entertainment, a free planting activity for children, balloon animals, cooking demonstrations by Saint Luke’s East Hospital and more. The first 150 customers to arrive will receive a free insulated tote bag.

The Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market is open from 7 a.m. to sell-out Wednesdays and Saturdays from now until Nov. 29 in Downtown Lee’s Summit. The Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market has been named the No. 1 Farmers Market in Missouri in the America’s Favorite Farmers Market Contest, sponsored by the American Farmland Trust, for the past three years, and also once again was named among the Top 10 markets in the nation in the medium-market category.


National Train Day: May 10

Additionally, May 10 is National Train Day. Lee’s Summit is home to an Amtrak Station where the Missouri River Runner brings visitors right to the heart of Downtown Lee’s Summit, a Great American Main Street Award winner, one of only two in Missouri.
