is happiness

a skill

to be

learned

here is

how

must it

be earned

do some

simply

have a

knack

for it

maybe

its a

genetic

gift

he is

happier

since

no longer

trying

to be

happy

it had

become

so time

consuming

turned

into

hard work

now

it comes

and goes

as if

having

a will

of its

own

almost

seems

to appear

more often

when

no longer

expected

sleeping

later

one recent

morning

little to

anticipate

beyond

usual

routine

he was

door bell

awakened

and standing

there was

someone

with a loaf

of fresh

home baked

bread

still warm

to touch

an aroma

like altar

incense

making

gods

blush

thats

the way

his life

goes

surprised

by happiness

long as he

doesnt try

to own it
