SCA students nominated for Starlight’s Blue Star Awards

May 7, 2014

Starlight Theatre and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City nominated two Summit Christian Academy students in two different categories for a Blue Star Awards for their production of “Meet Me in St. Louis.”

SCA junior Grace Gronberg received a nomination for outstanding artistic contribution by a student for her choreography and SCA senior Kylee Schuh was nominated for outstanding hair and makeup design. This is Kylee’s second nomination in the category.

The Blue Star Awards, modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards, honors achievement and excellence in high school musical theater. The program annually serves nearly 5000 area students who participate in various facets of their schools’ musical theatre productions. This year’s season included 46 schools performing 52 musicals.

The SCA cast and crew from “Meet Me in St. Louis” gather together after being nominated for a Blue Star Award by Starlight Theatre and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City.
