Summit Christian plans to start wrestling program

Summit Christian Academy announced this week that it plans to add wrestling to its high school athletic program.

SCA athletic director Jake Kates said in a press release that the school will start wrestling for the 2014-15 school year. With this latest addition, The school will now compete in 12 sports.

"I think it is wonderful that we are able to add programs that give kids a place to belong and to excel,” Kates said. “Wrestling is a sport that will be a wonderful addition to our current athletic program.”

SCA also recently added girls golf and dance programs. The school will also play its second season of varsity football this fall, its first in Class 2 District 14.

SCA’s other sports include soccer, basketball, golf, track, cross country, baseball volleyball, softball and cheerleading.
