Sign-ups going on now for Swim Lessons, Stingrays Swim Team and Junior Guard

The early bird registration fees for outdoor swim lessons at Summit Waves end on May 29. There are six different classes based on age and experience. Younger classes are designed to increase students comfort level in the water. More advanced classes focus on stroke development and improvement of basic strokes as well as basic turns. Excluding the Seahorse class (ages 6 months-4years) instructors will test for placement. The first session begins the week of June 3.

Teens ages 12-14 can find out what it takes to be a Summit Waves Lifeguard. Participants will Learn water and land rescue techniques, CPR skills, first aid and teamwork and participants take home a Junior Guard tshirt. The first session begins June 16.

Stingrays Swim Team is recruiting swimmers between the ages of 6 and 17 to participate on this competitive team which includes practices Monday through Friday beginning June 2 and four swim meets with area teams on Saturdays. Techniques of competitive swimming and competitive strokes are developed with emphasis on recreation, enjoyment and learning the basics of competitive swimming. Meets are Saturday mornings with area swim teams.
