Christian Youth Theater performs Hercules

May 14, 2014

Did you know Lee’s Summit is growing talented young entertainers?

Every week 56 young people between the ages of 8-18 gather at Grace United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit to prepare for the first ever Christian Youth Theater production of Hercules.

Students are learning acting, voice, dance, and fundamentals of musical theater while preparing for this family-friendly musical production.

Hercules follows the Greek legend of a young misfit and his desire to find greatness. A conspiracy by his uncle sends the powerful god hurtling to earth, where he becomes mortal but retains his powerful strength. His journey to prove his worth places him in the path of hilarious, creative, cunning and magical creatures all while discovering what makes a true hero.

This production will show off the talents and hard work of area students at the Goppert Theater at Avila University May 15-18. Tickets are $10 in advance or $8 for children under 12 and adults over 65. Discounts are available for groups. Call the box office to reserve your seats at (913) 681-3318 or go online at http://www.cytkc.org.
