Summit Lakes Middle School students and staff members recently celebrated reading and art during the school’s Art and Book Fair, held May 6.

Students stayed after school to create chalk drawings on the sidewalks celebrating their favorite books. That evening, Price Chopper (Summit Lakes’ business partner) provided sandwiches, chips, drinks and cookies for the students and their families.

Students and parents also had the opportunity to shop during the Scholastic Book Fair.

The SLMS Art Fair included at least one piece of art from each art student displayed throughout the school. Artwork displayed inside the school and chalk drawings were judged, and awards were given for first place, honorable mention and best of show.
