Scott N. Wright
Scott N. Wright, 55, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully at home with his family on May 19. He is survived by his wife, Linda Wright, of Greenwood; daughter, Sonya and her husband Dustin Germain, of Columbia, Mo.; son, Kevin Wright, of Warrensburg, Mo.; and grandson, Crosby Germain, of Columbia, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Dorothy Wright, and brother, Steve Wright, of Greenwood.
Scott was a graduate of Lee’s Summit High School, class of ’77, the University of Missouri, B.S. Mechanical Engineering ’81 and Rockhurst University, M.B.A. ’86. He was an active member of the University of Missouri Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Industrial Advisory Board. Scott worked for 32 years at Honeywell F.M.&T in various project engineering positions. He was a lifelong and third-generation farmer and the Wright family was recognized as the Jackson County Farm Family of the year in 2001.
He enjoyed attending sporting events, and was a Royals’ and Mizzou football season ticket holder. Scott was an avid reader, known to consume lengthy books in a single sitting, if he were so inclined.
Visitation will be held May 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Langsford Funeral Home. Funeral service will be May 23 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lee’s Summit cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Scott’s name to the Kansas City Hospice House.
