Broncos’ baseball season ends with loss to Jaguars

Lee’s Summit North’s baseball season came to an end with a 6-1 loss to Blue Springs South in the Class 5 District 14 final May 20 at the Broncos Activity Complex.

Blue Springs South scored single runs in the second and third innings before adding three more on three hits in the fourth for a 5-0 lead.

Colten Pogue keyed the Jaguars’ fourth with an RBI-double and also hit a solo homer in the sixth. Pogue went three for four and also scored three runs for the Jaguars.

North didn’t get on the board until Andrew Warner’s leadoff home run in the sixth inning. The Broncos loaded the bases with no outs after Warner’s blast but couldn’t score any more runs.

Dylan Carrender had two hits for the Broncos, who managed only six hits against Jaguars pitchers Reece Eddins and Conner Davis.

North finished the season with a 15-16 record.

Blue Spring South, 21-11 will play host to Lee’s Summit West in a Class 5 sectional game May 27.
