Area golfers place in state tournaments

Lee’s Summit area schools had four golfers place in state tournament play earlier in the week.

Keaton Black of Lee’s Summit North finished in a tie for 25th in the Class 4 state golf tournament. Black, a senior making his second appearance at state, posted scores of 81 and 83 for a 164 total in the two-day tournament, which was held May 19-20 at the Dalhousie Golf Course in Cape Girardeau.

Nelson Searcy of Lee’s Summit West tied for 45th with a 168 total and Titans teammate Kerry Maguire was tied for 62nd at 174.

Tim Cook of Summit Christian Academy tied for 30th overall in the Class 2 tournament at Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar. Cook had rounds of 83 and 84 for a 167 total.
