Lee’s Summit police increasing patrol May 23-26

May 23, 2014

The Lee’s Summit Police Department will participate in a National Click it or Ticket it campaign during the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend.

The special enforcement effort will be in an area of Lee’s Summit where drunken driving related arrests and crashes are prevalent.

The department will increase its driving while intoxicated enforcement efforts during the weekend period of May 23-26. These increased enforcement efforts will include additional police patrols and a DWI checkpoint during the late evening and early morning hours. The goal of the enforcement to remove impaired drivers from the roadway and reduce alcohol related crashes and injuries.
