Lee’s Summit’s Andrew Anderson to receive leaders and achievers scholarship

June 4, 2014

The Comcast Foundation has announced eight Kansas City area high school seniors as recipients of the 2014 Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Awards. Andrew Anderson of Lee’s Summit West is being recognized as one of this year’s honorees.

Chosen for their leadership, academic achievement and community service, the winning seniors will be recognized at a special Leaders and Achievers Scholarship reception to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. June 5 at Union Station in downtown Kansas City. The winning students and their families will also enjoy a private showing of “The Discovery of King Tut” exhibit, currently on display at Union Station.

A member of the National Honor’s Society, Anderson lettered in academics all four years and in baseball for two years. As a senior, he was nominated as the Optimist Student of the Month in November 2013.

The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program provides one-time $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors.
