Area sports fans can once again visit with Kansas City-area professional sports stars, win prizes at sports trivia and catch live radio broadcasts from sports radio 810 WHB at the 810 Sports Zone during Downtown Days June 6-8.
On June 6, the fun begins at 2 p.m. with an appearance from the MISL Champion Missouri Comets Soccer team. Along with meeting selected players, fans can have there picture taken with the MISL CUP. Stars from FC-Kansas City Blues women’s soccer team are available 4-6 p.m. At 6 p.m. women from the Kansas City Storm pro football team will appear to talk about there current season. Jon Beck, an area resident who is a member of the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame will complete the lineup.
June 7, KC T-Bones selected players from will be on hand from 10 a.m. to noon. At noon, sports fans can visit with players who used to call the Truman Sports Complex home, including former Royal Jaime Bluma, Chiefs’ alum Alphonso Hodge, longtime Wizards soccer star Nick Garcia a long. Members of the KC Roller Warriors Roller Derby team will be on hand that evening.
Lee’s Summit High schools’ softball stars will appear at 11 a.m. June 8. Haley Kinnison, Emily Garcia and Shae Boyd have all continued to excel in college softball. Visit with Mavericks star Dave Pszenyczny and Joe Rozycki at 1 p.m. Along with all the star athletes and competing for sports trivia prizes sports booth visitors will also see area sports team mascots over the weekend.
