Aspen Athletic Club in Lee’s Summit acquired by Gold’s Gym

Aspen Athletic Club, located at 178 N.W. Oldham Parkway in Lee’s Summit, will become Gold’s Gym after the recent acquisition of eight Aspen Clubs throughout the Midwest.

Gold’s Gym announced June 5 that it has signed an agreement to acquire eight of Aspen Athletic Clubs’ nine locations throughout the Midwest, including four in the Kansas City metro area, two in the Omaha, Nebraska metro area and two in the Lincoln, Nebraska metro area.

As part of the deal, the eight Aspen Athletic Clubs will be rebranded under the Gold’s Gym name, which is expected to take 2-3 months. All current Aspen memberships will automatically transition to Gold’s Gym memberships and all existing membership agreements will be honored. The eight clubs attained through the acquisition will remain open throughout the conversion.

In Kansas City, the newly acquired clubs will join three existing Gold’s Gym locations which are independently owned and operated by franchisees The four new Gold’s Gym locations, including the one in Lee’s Summit, will be corporate-owned.
