Entertainment, food and fun at Downtown Days…Streets Alive! festival

Plan to kick off the summer during the annual Downtown Days…Streets Alive! festival, June 6-8, spanning six blocks in the historic and award-winning Downtown Lee’s Summit central business district. Live entertainment, food vendors, a new carnival, a white tiger exhibit, craft vendors, a car show, a fashion show, 810 Sports Zone, the KCBS-sanctioned Smokin’ on the Summit BBQ competition and much more all are part of this year’s festivities. Festival hours are from noon to 10 p.m. June 6; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 7; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 8.

For more than 20 years, Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street has been hosting a family- friendly festival in the heart of Downtown Lee’s Summit. Every year, the Downtown Days committee brings in new events and activities, and this year is no exception, promising a few attractions festival-goers won’t see anywhere else.

810 Sports Zone: Visit with various athletes and mascots, play sports trivia and hear Sports Radio 810 personalities.

New Carnival: Enjoy rides, games and food; open all hours of the festival. Sunday is wrist-band day.

Kids Street: Games, face painting, food and more available all weekend.

Petting Zoo: Visit animals in the free petting zoo hosted by Sunset Trails Stables.

White Tiger Discovery Exhibit: View live white tigers throughout the weekend. Small fee required.

Robotics Teams: See live demonstrations by local high school Robotics Teams.
