Erica Doane, daughter of Eric Doane and Julie Shuck Doane of Lee’s Summit, was recently awarded one of the top two individual national awards by Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
Doane was awarded the Margaret Freeman Everett Outstanding Senior Award. The award is given to a collegian recognized as a senior by the university she attends who has demonstrated outstanding contributions and service to Tri Sigma. In addition, she must demonstrate outstanding character in her daily life, serve as a role model to younger members, and make specific and lasting contributions to her campus and community. The award is presented to one member throughout the United States.
Doane is the first to receive it from Sigma Sigma Sigma in at least 50 years.
Doane was presented the award by Sigma Sigma Sigma National President, Kaye Schendel, at the annual Founder’s Day celebration in April. Doane is the past president of Nu chapter, Sigma Sigma Sigma at the University of Central Missouri.
She graduated from the UCM May 10 and began working for Sigma Sigma Sigma as a regional consultant July 1.
