Lee’s Summit’s Chirnside awarded scholarship at SDSU

Lauren Chirnside of Lee’s Summit was recently awarded the Joseph Van Treek Scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year at South Dakota State University.

Chirnside, the daughter of Bradford Chirnside and Angie Rosini, is a 2012 graduate of Blue Springs South High School. A junior dairy manufacturing major, Chirnside is also a member of the SDSU softball team. She was recently named to The Summit League’s Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll and was recognized as a Summit League Distinguished Scholar.

Joseph Van Treeck, a 1980 SDSU graduate in dairy manufacturing, created the scholarship.
