Echoes

lets

you

and

i

sit

here

a minute

take

a deep

breath

and see

what we

can

agree

about

are there

truths

seem

so obvious

they are

self evident

to both

of us

any rights

that are

inalienable

belong

to us

simply

because

we were

born

so that

we want

them for

each other

as much as

for ourselves

are there

fundamental

hopes fears

doubts dreams

we share

lets

begin

there

i will start

it seems

self evident

to me

that we

are

human

beings

we can

be right

and we

can be

wrong

were

yesterday

are today

will be

tomorrow

if you

agree

lets meet

again

next week

and build

on that

one truth

we hold

in common

if you dont

agree

i wont

argue

but there is

probably

not much

point in

continuing
