Demolition of the former Earl May Nursery and Garden Center at 920 E. Langsford Rd. continued July 1 as a bulldozer tore into the existing building which will be razed to make room for a new Hy-Vee service station near the Hy-Vee East location at 301 N.E. Rice Rd. in Lee’s Summit. A Hy-Vee Construction representative said the company is hopeful that the new service station will open in the fall. Demolition and clear out of debris from the building is expected to take four to five days.
