Summit Christian Academy middle school students visit the nation’s capital

July 9, 2014

Twenty-five Summit Christian Academy middle school students, along with several SCA history teachers and parents, recently visited our nation’s capitol and experienced an up-close view of the buildings, memorials, and museums that preserve the story of the United States of America.

The middle school students toured several historical and prominent sites, including the Capitol Building, the Supreme Court, the White House, Mount Vernon and a host of museums. The guided tour of the foundation and hub of the nation’s government allowed students to examine the functional ways the various branches of government craft laws and protect the freedoms of citizens in this country.

Lee's Summit Journal is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
