Billy Goat U19 soccer club raising funds for trip to nationals

The Billy Goat Futbol Club Raytown U19 boys soccer team is holding a clinic to raise money for its upcoming trip to nationals.

The clinic is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. July 15 at the Raytown Soccer Club Fields, 14200 E. 87th Street (near Noland Road and Missouri 350) in Kansas City. The rainout date is July 17.

The clinic is open to any boys or girls soccer players 14 and under who want to work on improving their foot skills, dribbling and shooting skills. All the instructors are collegiate soccer players. There will also be a raffle for two tickets to an upcoming Sporting Kansas City game.

The clinic costs $25, with all proceeds going toward the Billy Goat’s trip to the U.S.Youth Soccer Association National Championships July 20-26 in Germantown, Md. Particpants should bring their own ball, a water bottle and normal soccer gear including shin guards and cleats.

The Billy Goat team, which has several current and former Lee’s Summit- area high school players on its roster, advanced to the national tournament by winning the USYSA Midwest Region championship last month in Beavercreek, Ohio.
