Yard sale to help missions in China

July 23, 2014

A Lee’s Summit fellowship is holding a large yard/porch sale in downtown Lee’s Summit to support the ministry of a longtime local pastor who travels to China.

Doug Brown, founding pastor of Lee's Summit Community Church, as well as continuing as a teacher here, travels to China for mission trips teaching pastors there how to serve their churches better, said Teresa Gallo, who is helping organize the sale.

Brown is president of e3Leadership Group and involved in Great Commission Churches, an international church movement, and a Lee’s Summit resident.

The sale is Friday and Saturday, July 25-26 and all proceeds go to the efforts of Doug and Sharon Brown and e3Leadership Group.

One of the church’s fellowships, the Adams Home Group, is sponsoring the sale at 600 SE Douglas St., Gallo’s home. Gallo said hundreds of people contributed “nicer” items for the sale, from bicycles to porcelain.
