SCA adds two to coaching staff

August 5, 2014

Summit Christian Academy recently announced two additions to its athletic staff.

Tiffany Ellison has been hired as the school’s new softball coach. Ellison has over 14 years of experience coaching softball, from beginning softball through high school.

Ellison holds a Bachelor of Science degree in corporate fitness from the University of Central Missouri.

“I am excited to be at SCA and hit the ground running with the softball team,” Ellison said. “Softball is a lifelong passion of mine and, more importantly, mentoring young ladies through a game I love is a real privilege.”

Mike Collier Jr. will be SCA’s new junior high soccer coach. A 2011 graduate of SCA, Collier was selected first team all-state and the Western Region Defensive Player of the year during the 2010-2011 season.

“I’m excited about helping enrich the lives of students both in soccer and in life. This is a great opportunity for me to give back to a program that was so beneficial to me,” Collier said.

SCA athletic director Jake Kates said Collier will be a great asset to the Eagles’ soccer program.

“It is not every day that you get an all-state player coming back to help coach in the program in which they once played,” Kates said.
