Lee’s Summit to go into a ‘Godspell’ this weekend

Summit Theatre Group will present the musical “Godspell“ on Aug. 7 through Aug. 10 at 800 Tudor Road and is produced in cooperation with the Lee’s Summit Ministerial Alliance. “Godspell“ takes the stories and parables of the Book of Matthew and presents them in a unique musical theater format. The production is under the direction of Phyllis Balagna and features a cast of 25 ranging in age from 10 to 50. Special celebrity guest appearances will also be a feature of this fun and inventive show.

Performance begin at 7:30 p.m. each night on Aug. 7-9 and at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 10. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors and may be purchased in advance at summittheatregroup.com or at either of the Lee’s Summit Hy-Vee stores. Tickets will also be available at the door beginning an hour before each performance.
