Bike ride Saturday will benefit Coldwater pantry

August 7, 2014

Coldwater is holding its “Crank Out Hunger” bicycle ride on Saturday.

The event raises awareness and funds for the agency’s food pantry which feeds 200 people in Lee’s Summit and is growing.

The ride starts at 7 a.m. at Lee’s Summit Subaru, 2101 NE Independence Ave. and has route options of 28, 58 or 87 miles, all beginning at that location.

SAG stops will be available for water and snacks, and a bike service tent will be sponsored by Bike Stop. Day-of registration is still open Aug. 8-9 for $40. If available, a T-shirt, pint glass and sponsor bag come with day-of registration.

After the ride, for small donations, there will be a barbecue lunch that starts about 10:30 a.m.
