August 26, 2014

Lee’s Summit kicked off its volleyball season Aug. 25 with a 2-0 victory over Park Hill at the Trojans’ gym.

The Tigers won the first game 25-22 and took the match with a 25-18 win in the second game.

Hailey Criswell led the way for the Tigers with nine kills, one block and four digs. Cassidi Street had four kills and eight digs and Kelly Dauer had 17 assists and nine digs.

“I thought we played pretty good the entire night,” Lee’s Summit volleyball coach Julie Carver said. “All attackers contributed at the net which made it difficult for Park Hill to know who was going to get the ball. This makes us a much tougher team to defend.”

Lee's Summit North opened with a 2-0 win over Raymore-Peculiar Aug. 25 in the Broncos’ gym.

TENNIS: Lee’s Summit North opened with an 8-1 victory at Park Hill South. Camryn Parnell, Jenny Krause, Beta Lear, Alexandra Mesias and Sarah Welch all recorded victories in singles for the Broncos. Parnell and Logan Morrissey, Krause and Lear, and Mesias and Welch swept the doubles matches.
