August 29, 2014

Lee’s Summit police are investigating a shooting that left two men in the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

According to the Lee’s Summit Police Department, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Aug. 28 officers and medical crews were called to the 2300 block of SW Feather Ridge Drive on a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found two victims that had suffered non life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the two injured men are brothers and had become involved in an argument inside the home. During the argument one of the men produced a handgun and threatened to harm himself. A struggle ensued over the firearm and the gun discharged, striking both men.

Police said one victim was treated for a superficial wound to the face while the other suffered an injury to his hand. Both men were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the shooting is on-going and no charges have been filed yet in the incident.
