The Lee’s Summit Fire Department responded to a house fire around 4 p.m. Thursday at 1301 N.E. Magnolia Drive. Initial indications were that the fire started with a car parked inside the garage of the split-level home. The fire was largely contained to the garage, however the rest of the home sustained smoke damage. One occupant was home at the time of the fire but escaped unharmed.
The Lee’s Summit Police Department issued citations to clerks at six local stores Jan. 31, during a quarterly liquor-control sting operation in the city.
